ACAP: Philippines carriers likely suffered USD1.2bn losses in 2020 due to decreased traffic

    Air Carriers Association of the Philippines (ACAP) executive director and VP Roberto Lim reported local carriers likely recorded losses of PHP60 billion (USD1.2 billion) as of end Dec-2020 due to decreased traffic (Manila Standard, 08-Feb-2021). Mr Lim stated: “Let it be known that the airline industry is still here. They are still intact and what they need to achieve is to have more people flying, to be able to fly to more destinations with increased frequency”. He added: “This industry does not only cater to tourism but to professionals, trade and business, as well”.
