ACI Europe DG: Brexit concerns lessen with EC air connectivity contingency measures with UK

ACI Europe DG Olivier Jankovec reported (14-Nov-2018) "momentum in traffic growth is robust, but diminishing" during the summer 2018 peak season. He noted Brexit risks have lessened following the European Commission's (EC) announcement of contingency measures in the case of failed negotiations with the UK, formally clarifying it will propose measures to ensure undisrupted air connectivity between the EU27 and the UK after Mar-2019. He added: "Consumers can now have confidence over existing and future bookings for travel" in 2019, noting however measures would only apply until Dec-2019, which "still leaves a big question mark as to what would happen beyond that date if the no deal scenario materialises".
