Air Canada Aeroplan and Virgin Australia entered an alliance to allow members of both carriers' frequent flyer programmes to earn and redeem points across the two airlines, effective 19-Jan-2021 (One Mile at a Time/Executive Traveller/The Points Guy, 07/08-Jan-2021). Air Canada stated: "This new partnership positions Air Canada Aeroplan to be at the ready for the recovery… Trans-Pacific travel between Australia and Canada is an important market".
