Air Canada VP: Planned A220 fleet 'doesn't help us with the MAX crunch'

16 January, 2020

Air Canada VP of network planning Mark Galardo said the "A220 is part of our planned deliveries, but it doesn't help us with the MAX crunch", as the carrier's plan "was to have a MAX fleet and an A220 fleet co-exist side-by-side" (Financial Post, 15-Jan-2020). Mr Galardo noted the 737 MAX will be "an extremely safe, reliable airplane" when it returns to service, adding it "will be in Air Canada's fleet for the long term".
