HUB Georgia founder Giorgi Kodua said discussions with Georgia‘s Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development on the launch of Air Georgia LCC are 80% complete (bizzone.info, 23-Sep-2020). Mr Kodua said potential investors were approached on the subject of financing the USD50 million project. Mr Kodua said the carrier would be based at Kutaisi Airport and handle 100,000 passengers p/a. Passengers could increase to 500,000 in the carrier’s second year of operations. The network could include services to Germany, Greece, Italy and Ukraine. Operations are expected to commence with a two aircraft fleet, with another two aircraft to be added to the fleet later.
