Amsterdam Schiphol Airport incorporates CT scans into security filters

10 May, 2021

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport opened (06-May-2021) a new security filter featuring CT scans on the mezzanine floor of Departures 1. The CT scans allow passengers to keep liquids and electronics in their bags when going through security. Royal Schiphol Group deputy director of safety, security and environment Hedzer Komduur said security staff can "check baggage on their screen in 3D and even rotate it 360 degrees". 21 security lanes have been equipped with CT scanners. The initial trial of this system was carried out in 2015. [more - original PR]
