ANA Holdings plans plastic elimination

6 October, 2021

ANA Holdings announced (06-Oct-2021) plans to phase out the use of plastic as part of its goal to achieve zero waste by FY2050. In keeping with its ESG goals, ANA Group has committed to reducing the use of plastic by 70% from FY2019 levels by FY2030 and eliminating the use of plastics entirely by FY2050. To achieve these environmental goals, ANA will stop providing plastic bags for baggage packing at airports after 31-Oct-2021. ANA will gradually reduce the use of plastic bags at all airports, while those used for packing strollers and wheelchairs will continue to be provided. For wheelchairs, reusable covers will also be used in combination. This initiative will reduce the number of plastic bags used by approximately 1.96 million bags per year, amounting to approximately 94 tons. [more - original PR]
