The first shoots of a post-COVID-19 environment are starting to grow in China as authorities increasingly believe the virus has mostly run its course domestically. This week the country's aviation regulator CAAC confirmed the resumption of domestic flights (with the exception of connections to Beijing) at the majority of airports across the Hubei province - Wuhan Tianhe International Airport is due to follow from 08-Apr-2020 having been closed to scheduled flights since 23-Jan-2020.

The Economist Intelligence Unit (The EIU) has just released its 2020 report on the Worldwide Cost of Living but with COVID-19 shutting down much of the world's economy it's likely that 2021's report will be a much more informative read. As shares fall and the economy slows in every country around the globe, what in early 2020 was rated as being the most expensive city to live in, may be not bear any relationship to reality for the remainder of the year.
