Australia's Government provides USD3.8m for Tasmania tourism

Australia's Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment Dan Tehan and Senator for Tasmania, Assistant Minister for Forestry and Fisheries, Assistant Minister for Industry Development Jonathon Duniam stated (27-Jul-2021) Australia's Government is providing AUD5.1 million (USD3.8 million) to fund new tourist attractions in Tasmania, to attract more visitors to the island and support local jobs and business opportunities. The Government is providing AUD2.34 million (USD1.7 million) for eight tourism projects plus AUD2.8 million (USD2.1 million) to encourage agricultural businesses to develop unique tourism experiences. The funding is provided through the Recovery for Regional Tourism Program, which is part of the Australia Government's AUD1 billion (USD736.6 million) COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Fund.
