Austrian Airlines CEO: Aviation 'an integral part of our society'

Austrian Airlines, via its official Twitter account, reported (10-Sep-2019) the Austrian aviation industry contributes close to 95,000 jobs and EUR7.6 billion p/a to the economy, roughly 2.1% of Austria's GDP. "The aviation industry is an integral part of our society, securing jobs, wealth and cultural exchange. Yet, we are aware of our responsibility towards the environment and are working to reduce the environmental impact of flying", Austrian CEO Alexis von Hoensbroech stated.
