Austrian Airlines reports strong demand for Greek travel, deploying Boeing 777 to Crete

Austrian Airlines reported (05-Jul-2021) it has already booked 96,000 passengers on flights from Austria to Greece for Jul/Aug-2021. The most popular destinations are Crete, followed by Rhodes and Kos, with load factor on the flights currently around 80%. Heraklion has been particularly popular, with demand tripling since May-2021. In response, the carrier will deploy high capacity Boeing 777 aircraft weekly (Saturday) from Vienna to Heraklion between 24-Jul-2021 and 04-Sep-2021, increasing capacity by around 100 passengers per flight.
