In Australia, the average ticket price in all major cities increased in 2017 versus 2016, with the exception of Canberra which decreased from both domestic and intercontinental bookings. Domestically, Melbourne recorded the largest increase in ticket price, up 7.7% year-on-year, while intercontinental bookings for Perth increased by 9%.
Passenger evolution and traffic also increased for all major airports, except Perth, which was impacted by the loss of the mining boom. Canberra recorded the largest increase in traffic thanks to international airlines such as Singapore Airlines and new domestic services from Tigerair.
