Avianca to face stiff competition from low cost operators following Chapter 11 proceedings

    CAPA – Centre for Aviation, in a report entitled: ‘Avianca faces stiff competitors once it exits bankruptcy’, stated (07-Sep-2021) the airline is likely to continue to face competition from low cost operators upon its exit from Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. The report suggests that while Avianca is establishing lower cost structures to compete with low cost carriers, those airlines have undergone further cost reduction measures themselves. The importance of strategic partnerships is also emphasised, with a number of alliances taking shape across the region, including relationships between LCCs/ULCCs and legacy carriers. [more – CAPA Analysis]
