Bitcoin Watch – UAE plans to regulate coin offerings and recognises tokens as securities

Over the weekend, the UAE Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) approved new regulations on initial coin offerings (ICO) in the country, as well as recognise the issued tokens as securities. The plan includes comprehensive regulations for crowdfunding through ICOs and follows a review of best practices in other countries. The step forward signals a change in the country's position regarding initial coin offerings.
