    Australia‘s Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE) reported (18-Feb-2021) the following international traffic highlights to/from Australia for Dec-2020:

    • Passengers: 79,390, -98.0% year-on-year;
    • Available seats: 509,746, -89.7%;
    • Cargo: 83,267 tonnes, -17.8%;
    • Flights: 3936, -79.2%;
    • Aircraft movements: 4176, -78.4%;
    • Top 10 international carriers:
      • Share of passengers carried:
        • Singapore Airlines: 15.7%, +7.9pp;
        • Qatar Airways: 13.1%, +10.3pp;
        • Air New Zealand: 12.1%, +5.5pp;
        • Emirates Airline: 10.1%, +3.0pp;
        • China Southern Airlines: 5.6%, +2.1pp;
        • United Airlines: 3.8%, +2.4pp;
        • SriLankan Airlines: 3.5%, +3.1pp;
        • Cathay Pacific: 3.2%, -1.2pp;
        • China Eastern Airlines: 3.2, +1.0pp;
        • Etihad Airways: 3.2%, +0.9pp;
      • Share of cargo carried:
        • Singapore Airlines: 11.4%, -4.6pp;
        • FedEx: 8.6%, +4.1pp;
        • Cathay Pacific: 8.3%, +1.3pp;
        • Qantas Airways: 8.1%, -2.2pp;

    LCCs Jetstar Airways and Scoot accounted for 2.4% of total international passenger traffic to/from Australia in Dec-2020. The LCC share in Dec-2019 was 15.2%.
