BITRE: Australian international pax down 94% in Jun-2021, compared to Jun-2019

Australia's Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE) reported (23-Aug-2021) the following international traffic highlights for Jun-2021:

  • Passengers: 194,290, -94.2% compared to Jun-2019;
  • Available seats: 735,264, -82.6%;
  • Cargo: 77,046 tonnes, -9.0%;
  • Flights: 4755, -70.9%;
  • Aircraft movements: 4991, -70.3%;
  • Top 5 international carriers:
    • Share of passengers carried:
      • Air New Zealand: 47.0%, +40.6pp compared to Jun-2019;
      • Qantas Airways: 21.8%, +4.5pp;
      • Singapore Airlines: 6.5%, -2.0pp;
      • Jetstar: 5.5%, -3.3pp;
      • Qatar Airways: 4.6%, +1.3pp;
    • Share of cargo carried:
      • Singapore Airlines: 13.4%, -2.5pp;
      • Qantas Airways: 8.2%, -4.2pp;
      • FedEx: 7.7%, +3.4pp;
      • Qatar Airways: 7.4%, +4.3pp;
      • Emirates: 7%, -1.3pp.
