British Airways resumes efforts to establish London Gatwick short haul subsidiary

British Airways announced it is resuming efforts to establish a "full service short haul subsidiary" based at London Gatwick Airport, after reaching an agreement with the British Airline Pilots Association (BALPA) regarding pay and working conditions (Reuters/Bloomberg/The Independent, 07/08-Oct-2021). The airline stated: "We will continue discussions with our colleagues, trade unions, suppliers and other stakeholders, following this positive result, and if we can agree a way forward with all parties, we would hope to begin operations next summer".
