CAAC: Domestic pax recovers to 98% of 2019 level in Sep-2020

    CAAC reported (15-Oct-2020) the following preliminary traffic highlights for Sep-2020 (Beijing Business Today/Reuters, 15-Oct-2020): 

    • Passengers: 47.9 million, recovered to 87.5% of 2019 level;
      • Domestic: 47.75 million, recovered to 98% of 2019 level;
    • Domestic passenger flights: 371,000, +3.5% year-on-year;
    • Domestic cargo flights: 6570, 1.3 times 2019 level;
    • Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau cargo flights: 1147, 1.3 times 2019 level;
    • International cargo flights: 14,161, 2.5 times 2019 level;
    • Cargo: 665,000 tonnes, recovered to 96.4% of 2019 level;
      • All freighter cargo: 251,000 tonnes, +29.9% year-on-year;
    • Flight hours: 889,000, recovered to 87.8% of 2019 level;
    • 3Q2020:
      • Passengers: 133 million, recovered to 76% of 2019 level;
      • Cargo: 1.77 million tonnes, recovered to 91.3% of 2019 level;
    • First nine months of 2020:
      • Passengers: 280 million, recovered to 56.4% of 2019 level;
      • Cargo: 4.765 million tonnes, recovered to 87.4% of 2019 level.
