CAAC relaxes suspension rules on international services due to COVID-19

CAAC announced (28-Apr-2021) plans to relax suspension rules on international services due to COVID-19 as it seeks to facilitate more flexible capacity arrangement for airlines. Effective 01-May-2021, airlines can choose to cap the load factor on a service to no more than 40% for four weeks if up to five passengers on a previous flight test positive for coronavirus after arriving in China. Previously, such flights would have to be suspended for two weeks. Services will continue to be suspended for four weeks if more than 10 passengers on a previous flight test positive for coronavirus.
