Canadian North integrates certain functions with First Air, launches combined flight schedule

3 November, 2019

Canadian North launched (01-Nov-2019) its first combined flight schedule with First Air under the unified name of Canadian North, and consolidated its reservations systems, airport check in processes and cargo services. Changes are as follows:

  • Redesigned Canadian North website to replace previous separate Canadian North and First Air websites;
  • New unified Canadian North brand, featuring the Inukshuk logo and red and white colour palette, with this brand to increasingly feature on uniforms, counter signage and aircraft livery over time. Canadian North will retain existing brand assets such as the polar bear, northern lights, midnight sun and First Air name, for use use in future special projects;
  • Aurora Rewards members now able to earn Aurora Rewards points on all Canadian North scheduled services;
  • Canadian North customers now able to check in at any of its airport counters and ship to anywhere within its network from any of its cargo facilities, with the existing Canadian North and First Air airport check in counters and cargo facilities in Ottawa, Iqaluit, Edmonton and Yellowknife now consolidated.

The two carriers plan to combine flight operations, maintenance facilities and other functions throughout 2020, with a unified pricing structure to be introduced in early 2020. [more - original PR]
