Canadian PM: Canada may reopen borders to US by mid Aug-2021, other countries by Sep-2021

19 July, 2021

Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Canada could reopen its borders to vaccinated US travellers as early as mid Aug-2021, as well as vaccinated travellers from other countries by Sep-2021 (Washington Post/CBC, 16/17-Jul-2021). The timeline is dependent on case numbers and vaccination rates, with around 80% of eligible Canadians having received their first dose. The federal government is also considering the launch of a 'proof of vaccine' credential.
