Canberra Airport CEO: Coronavirus vaccine 'the most important thing you can do today'

Canberra Airport CEO Stephen Byron said airport staff have been encouraged to take time off to attend coronavirus vaccination appointments, noting 76% of staff members aged 50 and over have received their first vaccine dose (Canberra Times, 08-Jun-2021). Mr Byron said: "We're all busy in our lives with lots of priorities and people are comfortable to put it off until the end of the year unless business shows leadership and says 'No don't put it off, it's the most important thing you can do today'". Mr Byron said he has contacted 350 businesses which are connected to the airport and outlined the airport's coronavirus strategy.
