China Airlines and EVA Air to expand into cold chain logistics

China Airlines and EVA Air are preparing to expand into the cold chain logistics market in response to business opportunities arising from COVID-19 vaccine distribution efforts (CNA, 02-Feb-2021). EVA Air stated it is experienced in cold chain logistics and has briefed the Taiwanese Government about its transport capacity for the COVID-19 vaccine produced by Pfizer. As previously reported by CAPA, China Airlines is the only airline in Taiwan to hold IATA's Center of Excellence for Independent Validations in Pharmaceutical Logistics (CEIV Pharma) certification.
