Christchurch Airport constructs new secure arrivals pathway

Christchurch International Airport stated (16-Sep-2021) it built a new secure arrivals pathway for passengers on their way to managed isolation. The travellers go through all usual arrivals processes with the addition of the mandated Ministry of Health requirements, then to a bus which takes them to their hotel. The pathway took six months to build, in partnership with government agencies and health officials overseeing plans as they were drafted. The pathway ensures arriving international ‘red’ passengers will not mix with any other passengers or share facilities. The airport located one of its Pepper robots into the red pathway to welcome the arriving passengers and explain the process they’re going through.
