Christchurch International Airport announces installation of UV screening points

Christchurch International Airport stated (02-Jun-2021) Aviation Security installed a new system at security screening points within the terminal, which uses UV Light to disinfect items in the trays on the conveyor belts. The UV-C Light kits disinfect the trays from all sides and kills 99.9% of bacteria. Christchurch Airport stated Aviation Security installed the new UV light kits at screening points in New Zealand airports to give passengers and staff increased confidence as they began travelling again after coronavirus lockdown.
