Vistara CEO: 'We do have plans to fly to the US and Australia'

Vistara CEO Leslie Thng reported the airline plans to focus on operating short haul international services to destinations in west Asia and Southeast Asia for the remainder of 2019 and expand to medium to long haul international services from 1Q2020, when it is scheduled to start receiving Boeing 787-9 aircraft (Economic Times/Live Mint/The Hindu BusinessLine/NDTV/Reuters/CNBC-TV18, 07-Aug-2019). Mr Thng said "We want to start flights to Europe as soon as possible", noting Vistara has applied for slots at London Heathrow Airport. He added: "We do have plans to fly to the US and Australia but that will be in phase II". Mr Thng said approximately 50% of Vistara services are expected to be international within the next five years.
