Sri Lanka's Government reportedly plans to expand its free visa on arrival programme to include the following 10 countries, commencing 01-Aug-2019 (Colombo Page/Financial Express/Live Mint, 24/25-Jul-2019):
- India;
- China;
- UK;
- Denmark;
- Sweden;
- Norway;
- Finland;
- Iceland;
- Philippines;
- Russia.
SriLankan Airlines northern India manager Chinthaka Weerasinghe said the airline is "expecting an increase in the number of tourist arrivals from India and from other markets as well" following the expansion of the programme.
