ComexPeru outlines opposition to creation of state funded LCC in Peru

ComexPeru stated a proposed project to establish a low cost state-owned carrier in Peru would be counter productive for efficiency and competitiveness in the Peruvian aviation market (diariocorreo.pe, 24-Nov-2020). Potential negative effects raised by ComexPeru include a reduction in private investment and withdrawal of other operators from the domestic market, leading to reduced competition and increase in fare prices. ComexPeru represents Peru's main exporting, importing and service provider companies from various economic sectors with the aim to promote foreign trade, advocate for free markets and promote private investment.
