COVID-19: European airlines register biggest week-on-week pax drop since Jun-2020

18 January, 2021

CAPA - Centre for Aviation, in a report entitled: 'European airline capacity falls the most since first wave of COVID-19', stated (15-Jan-2021) Europe's airlines are operating 7.8 million seats in the week of 11-Jan-2021, a decline of 22.6% week-on-week and down 70.9% year-on-year. This is the biggest week-on-week percentage fall since the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in Jun-2020, and until vaccination programmes are more widely available and taken up, it seems likely that Europe's airline capacity may slide further.
