Croatia Airlines cuts losses by 15% in 1H2021 despite difficult operating conditions

Croatia Airlines reported (30-Jul-2021) it reduced its net loss by HRK25.8 million (EUR3.4 million) (15%) year-on-year for 1H2021. The airline reported difficult operating conditions caused by the coronavirus pandemic in 1H2021, resulting in a large drop in demand for air services and a negative impact on the carrier's financial results. The airline reduced operations by 4% to 5421 frequencies in 1H2021, with a focus on using its Dash 8-Q400 fleet. Passenger numbers decreased 37%, including a 15% decrease in domestic traffic and 46% drop in international traffic. Charter passenger numbers increased 8%. Overall load factor decreased 13.4pp to 45.3%.
