Darwin International Airport launches CT checked baggage and passenger screening system installation

Darwin International Airport announced (17-Sep-2019) plans for installation of advanced Computed Tomography (CT) checked baggage and passenger screening systems, with works scheduled to commence immediately. While installation is taking place, the main security screening point in the terminal will be closed until mid Dec-2019, with passenger screening to take place at the alternative security screening point on ground floor at the eastern end of the terminal. The new screening equipment provides enhanced capabilities while maximising passenger throughput and is the beginning in a series of major upgrades planned for Darwin International Airport in the next twelve months.
