DATA SPOTLIGHT: Juneyao Air

6 October, 2020

This year the Corporate Travel Community (CTC) will feature some of the leading airlines, airports and country markets for air travel. Here, using the extensive profile insights available to CAPA - Centre for Aviation members to deliver a data snapshot at where they sit today in the Covid-19 impacted world, we look at Juneyao Air, which despite restrictions on international flights in China has operated to some unusual locations in the past few weeks.

A strict policy restricting international access into China has helped the country keep control of Covid-19 infections. This means that Juneyao Air this month is operating just six weekly scheduled international flights to foreign destinations. This comprise single rotations from Shanghai Pudong to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, Helsinki and Osaka Kansai; from Nanjing to Osaka Kansai; and from Guiyang to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi.

But its Boeing 787 Dreamliners have also appeared in other foreign locations to support special charter needs. Last month that was in Africa following the operation of a Shanghai Pudong-Libreville-Nanjing service. This past weekend the airline flew a Nanjing-London charter flight delivering 200 Chinese students back to universities in the UK for the new academic year.
