DATA SPOTLIGHT: LOT Polish Airlines

Here, using the extensive profile insights available to CAPA - Centre for Aviation members to deliver a data snapshot, we look at LOT Polish Airlines, which has seen a strong interest in its resumption offerings especially in leisure markets.

The airline says it has sold close to 200,000 tickets since the launch of its #SummerwithLOT international travel campaign at the end of Jun-2020 and CEO Rafał Milczarski confirms the carrier plans to further develop its holiday offering due to the strong interest.

It resumed international operations at the start of July having suspended the majority of its flights in March to support measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and is now working to restore full operational capacity. According to Mr Milczarski, just a few weeks after the resumption of passenger flights it has now "restored almost 70% of the destinations planned for 2020".

The airline operates an extensive network within Europe and to North America and the Middle East, as well as charter and cargo services from its Warsaw hub. LOT Polish Airlines is a member of the Star Alliance. The Polish State Treasury owns 99.82% of total share capital, with the remaining equity stake shared between employees (0.036%) and TFS Silesia (0.144%).
