8 January, 2020

This year The Blue Swan Daily will feature some of the leading airlines, airports and country markets for air travel. Here, using the extensive profile insights available to CAPA - Centre for Aviation members to deliver a data snapshot on New York's John F Kennedy International airport (JFK), where construction has recently on a USD344 million investment by trans-Atlantic joint business partners American Airlines and British Airways.

The major project will see British Airways relocate from Terminal 7 to Terminal 8 at JFK and will see the 14 daily flights between New York and London operated by the two airlines in a co-located space. The project will see the addition of five widebody gates and four adjacent widebody hard stands (ramp parking where customers are transported to/from terminal via bus), enhanced baggage systems, new lounges, premium check-in space and upgraded concessions and retail options. Construction is scheduled to be completed in 2022.

ABOUT
New York John F Kennedy International Airport is the major international gateway serving the city of New York and the greater Tri-State metropolitan region - one of the world's most populous areas and a key financial centre. JFK is among the busiest airports in the United States. Apart from services from JetBlue Airways and regional subsidiaries of the US majors, destinations served from JFK are almost exclusively intercontinental, with many major commercial centres across South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East served directly from JFK. The airport is a hub for JetBlue Airways, American Airlines and Delta Air Lines.
