Delta Air Lines CEO: Video technology 'not going to be a substitute' for business travel

Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian stated (13-Oct-2020) he believes video technology will "have some impact" on business travel, "but it's not going to be a substitute". He referred to the effects of previous crises and advances of technology on business travel, and noted that business travel "has come back stronger than anyone anticipated" each time. "My sense is that we could be looking at anywhere from 10% to 20% reduction in the next couple of years when we get to that new normal of business travel", he stated, acknowledging that consumer behaviour will "undoubtedly be different" post COVID-19, "but I think it's going to come stronger than most of the pundits fear".
