Deutsche Lufthansa CEO fears planned traffic 'greater than current infrastructure can take'

Deutsche Lufthansa AG CEO Carsten Spohr commented on capacity constraints at German hubs, stating (airlineratings.com, 02-Dec-2018): "It is my great fear that we have planned a greater number of flights in German airspace than the current infrastructure can take". Lufthansa plans to hire 800 employees to stabilise operations, as well as order an extra six A320ceos, the only aircraft able to be delivered in time to fill capacity gaps. Mr Spohr said the German government "has at least assured us that the number of flights at the biggest German airports will not increase, despite the attempt by some airports to still push more flights through".
