easyJet considering blocking middle seat reservations when travel restrictions ease: CEO

16 April, 2020

easyJet CEO Johan Lundgren reported the carrier is considering blocking middle seat reservations upon resumption of passenger operations (Reuters/The Guardian, 16/17-Apr-2020). The move would be made in order to adhere to social distancing regulations to help prevent virus transmission. Mr Lundgren noted weaker passenger demand would make it easier to keep the middle seats empty when restrictions begin to ease.
