Ecuatoriana Airlines to launch services with two Bombardier turboprops

Ecuatoriana Airlines plans to launch operations with two Bombardier aircraft and to end the first year with a fleet of six Q400/Q200s (El Universo, 13-Feb-2021). Ecuatoriana's network is planed to include Guayaquil, Cuenca, Esmeraldas, Loja and Quito, then expand to Santa Rosa, Latacunga and Galapagos. The carrier's MRO base will be located at Latacunga and it plans to operate a hybrid model. Ecuatoriana Airlines CEO Eduardo Delgado stated: "We expect to have a load factor of around 75% during the first year". He explained: "Around 85% of the Ecuadorian airports don't have air services [and] the businessman and the people want to travel". Investment plans includes USD20 million during the first year, including the six aircraft.
