Embraer unveils new 70 to 90 seat regional turboprop concept with rear mounted engines

Embraer chief commercial officer Arjan Meijer reported the company's planned next generation turboprop concept features engines mounted at the rear of the fuselage (Reuters/Simple Flying, 13-Aug-2021). Embraer's SVP of engineering, technology development and corporate strategy Luis Carlos Affonso reported the company plans to offer a 70 to 90 seat design featuring the same fuselage cross section as its E-Jets family of regional jets. The aircraft is being developed to be capable of replacing 50 seat regional jets in "very important markets" said Mr Affonso.
