Embraer chief commercial officer Arjan Meijer reported the company’s planned next generation turboprop concept features engines mounted at the rear of the fuselage (Reuters/Simple Flying, 13-Aug-2021). Embraer‘s SVP of engineering, technology development and corporate strategy Luis Carlos Affonso reported the company plans to offer a 70 to 90 seat design featuring the same fuselage cross section as its E-Jets family of regional jets. The aircraft is being developed to be capable of replacing 50 seat regional jets in “very important markets” said Mr Affonso.
