EUROCONTROL forecasts 2021 traffic will recover to 50% of 2019 levels

EUROCONTROL director general Eamonn Brennan said (21-May-2021) he expects European airspace will handle around 5.5 million aircraft movements in 2021, around 50% of 2019 volumes. By the end of 2022, EUROCONTROL's most likely scenario expects that traffic will only have recovered to 72% of 2019 levels, and will "only get back to close to where we were pre-pandemic by 2025." said Mr Brennan.
