CAPA: Europe close to the bottom of the current capacity cycle

4 February, 2021

CAPA - Centre for Aviation, in a report entitled: 'European aviation: bottoming out, but no sharp rise likely', stated (04-Feb-2021) it is likely that Europe is close to the bottom of the current capacity cycle, or possibly at the bottom already. The curve will also likely remain flat over the coming months and the subsequent upward movement will not be steep. Nevertheless, European aviation can start to look forward to at least some improvement in the trend from some time in 2Q2021, with the peak summer 2021 period having the potential to rise above the equivalent period of 2020 despite COVID-19 virus strains and renewed lockdowns.
