Eurowings MD: 'We were more optimistic four or eight weeks ago'

4 September, 2020

Eurowings MD Jens Bischof reported the airline will likely operate less than 50 aircraft during the winter 2020/2021 season after Sep-2020 (aero.de, 03-Sep-2020). He said the airline is significantly impacted by new quarantine regulations for Spain, noting that bookings fell by half for destinations such as Palma de Mallorca once travel restrictions were reimplemented. Mr Bischof said that the outlook for the industry is worsening, concluding: "We were more optimistic four or eight weeks ago".
