Frankfurt Airport Terminal 2 to reopen on 01-Jun-2021

Frankfurt Airport announced (25-May-2021) plans to reopen Terminal 2 on 01-Jun-2021. Fraport terminal resource management head Sascha Konig said the reopening will "put us in an excellent position for handling the predicted increase in passenger volumes during the upcoming summer months". Comprehensive health measures at the terminal include 3000 floor markings, 480 see-through partitions installed at check in counters, blocking off every other seat in the waiting areas and installing 30 disinfectant dispensers. F&B, retail and parking facilities will operate according to COVID-19 safety requirements. The terminal has been closed since Mar-2020. In the interim Fraport has carried out upgrades, repairs and modernisation of facilities, including the installation of 3136 glass panes in the terminal roof's five skylights.
