Fraser Coast Regional Council to refurbish Hervey Bay Airport runway

Fraser Coast Regional Council announced (14-Oct-2019) it will soon call for tenders to deliver a refurbishment of the Hervey Bay Airport runway. Fraser Coast Councillor Paul Truscott reported the runway renewal was the single biggest capital works project in Council's 2019/20 budget with AUD14 million (USD9.6 million) allocated towards the FY2020. Mr Truscott reported: "The last major upgrade of the Hervey Bay Airport was almost 15 years ago" and is "in need of a facelift". Runway refurbishment is scheduled to commence in 1Q2020.
