French National Assembly approves legislation that could end some short haul domestic flights

France‘s National Assembly voted in support of legislation to cut carbon emissions by 40% by 2030, against a 1990 baseline, including a ban on short haul domestic flights on routes than can be covered by train in under 150 minutes (Reuters, 12-Apr-2021). The measure reportedly would halt the majority of short haul domestic flights to Paris OrlyBordeauxLyon and Nantes, with services to Marseille also at risk.
