GE Aviation: SAF could replace 2% of conventional jet fuel by 2025

GE Aviation engineering leader for aviation fuels and additives Gurhan Andac, via the company's official blog, stated (13-Sep-2021) current production sustainable aviation fuel is less than 1% of the global jet fuel demand, but replacement of about 2% of conventional jet fuel with SAF is possible by 2025. He added that cost "is still the challenge, with SAF being considerably more expensive than traditional jet fuels", but there are "mechanisms, incentives, policies and regulations being put in place that will help SAF use to become more economically viable for the operators".
