GOL director of network planning Rafael Araúj reported the carrier plans to continue investing in the development of Salvador Bahia Airport as a "baby hub", with the expectation that the airport will eventually become a major hub for the airline (aeroin.net/Aerotalks, 06-Oct-2020). Mr Araúj said that when flights were curtailed in Brazil, the carrier took advantage of "the space left by the competitors ".
