Hawaiian Airlines CEO: Fleet transformation connecting some 'dots in the network'

5 February, 2019

Hawaiian Airlines CEO Peter Ingram said the airline's fleet transformation is allowing Hawaiian to "connect some of the dots in the network" (Routes Online, 04-Feb-2019). He noted Hawaiian will continue to operate A330 equipment on its largest routes, but will utilise A321neo equipment on routes "thinner in terms of demand suitable for wide-body deployment". The airline expects to receive six A321neo aircraft in 2019, having received 11 in 2018. The new aircraft will allow Hawaiian to provide more passengers with its 'Extra Comfort' product. As previously reported by CAPA, a "large majority" of Hawaiian's capacity growth in FY2019 is expected to come from its 'Extra Comfort' product.
