Frasers Hospitality Group named Leading Serviced Apartment Brand in Australasia, China, Indonesia and South Korea

Frasers Hospitality Group was awarded (07-Jun-2017) seven titles at the 2017 World Travel Awards for Asia & Australasia ceremony in Shanghai, China. In the Australasia regional category, Frasers Hospitality was recognised as the Leading Serviced Apartment brand for the second consecutive year. Further awards included: leading global hospitality group, Indonesia's Leading Serviced Apartment Brand, South Korea's Leading Serviced Apartment Brand and China's Leading Serviced Apartment brand. Frasers Hospitality Group CEO Choe Peng Sum stated: "We are thrilled to be recognised with these prestigious accolades at the World Travel Awards ceremony for Asia & Australasia this year, which is a strong validation of our efforts to meet and exceed the evolving expectations of today's travellers".

Marriott International on track for breakthrough year in Asia Pacific

Marriott International announced (13-Jun-2017) it is on track to deliver nearly 80 hotels targeted to open, bringing 19,000 new rooms to Asia Pacific. This will include an additional two new brands, bringing the total in Asia Pacific to a total of 23 catering to every occasion and traveller. Marriott International Asia Pacific president and MD Craig S Smith said: "2017 is already shaping up to be a great year for Marriott across Asia Pacific. We are looking at an average of two hotels a week opening from now till the end of 2017. With our larger portfolio of individually distinctive brands across destinations, we now provide guests greater access unprecedented choices and unparalleled benefits on their travels whether for business or leisure".

Hilton And Miral announce plans for Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island Resort

Hilton announced (12-June-2017) Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island Resort will be part of the USD3.3 billion development plan announced by Miral for the southern end of Yas Island. Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island Resort, set to open in 2019, will be located in the Yas Bay, a three kilometre stretch that is anticipated to become one of the most iconic and vibrant waterfront destinations in the region. The resort's facilities will include a multi-purpose conference centre, seven dining outlets and an urban beach concept with an infinity pool suspended above the waters of the Arabian Gulf. Hilton VP development - MENA Carlos Khneisser stated: "This represents a landmark deal for Hilton and puts us at the forefront of the transformational journey Yas Island is undertaking to become one of the world's top leisure destinations. Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island Resort is indicative of the calibre of project we are looking at for our resort portfolio here in the Middle East".

DoubleTree by Hilton Shenzhen Longhua debuts as first international full service hotel in the transportation hub of Shenzhen

DoubleTree by Hilton announced (09-Jun-2017) the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Shenzhen Longhua, the first international, full-service hotel in Shenzhen Longhua. DoubleTree by Hilton senior vice president and global head Dianna Vaughan stated: "Shenzhen Longhua is a commercial hub that attracts business travellers, as well as leisure travellers who are drawn to the championship golf course and the Shanshuitianyuan Tourism Culture Park. We are pleased to introduce our brand to Shenzhen Longhua. DoubleTree by Hilton Shenzhen Longhua is Hilton's fourth hotel in Shenzhen and a great addition to our China portfolio of 100 operating hotels".

Sofitel Dubai Wafi to be luxury hotel brand's largest in the Middle East

Sofitel AccorHotels announced (06-Jun-2017) a partnership MKM Commercial Holdings LLC to deliver the brands largest Sofitel property in the Middle East. Expected to open in 1Q2019, Sofitel Dubai Wafi will join the luxury brand's growing portfolio of 14 hotels and 4400 rooms in operation and under development in the Middle East. AccorHotels Middle East COO luxury brands Sami Nasser stated: "The development of this property is aligned with our strategy to operate one of our leading luxury brands across strategic locations in the Middle East". Sofitel Dubai Wafi will feature 501 luxury guestrooms, inclusive of 86 suites, ranging in size from 55 to 625 square metres. The property will offer a number of dining concepts including an Asian specialty restaurant, gastro pub, a unique destination restaurant, bar and lounge on 43rd and 44th Floors, a French lobby café, an all-day restaurant and a pool bar.
