India to develop 100 new airports, double air fleet by 2024

India's Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman, in the FY2020/21 budget speech, stated (01-Feb-2020) 100 new airports will be developed by 2024 to support the UDAN regional connectivity scheme. India's air fleet is expected to increase from more than 600 to more than 1200 aircraft over the same period.
